Too Much Control Slowing You Down?

For decades, enterprises have responded to new challenges by adding more controls. New processes, approval layers, governance, systems and teams. Each addition usually makes sense on its own.
The problem is what happens when they accumulate. Control becomes complexity. Complexity becomes friction. And friction slows everything down. Decisions take longer. Information gets trapped. Accountability becomes blurred. People spend more time navigating the organization than serving customers or improving it. In a slower world, enterprises could absorb that burden. In an accelerating world, they can't.
The answer isn't to push people to move faster through an increasingly complex organization. It is to redesign the Operating Model so there is less to navigate in the first place.
The next competitive advantage may not come from what you add to your enterprise. It may come from what you're prepared to remove.
